Agenda 2030 is an ambitious and transformative development agenda, ensuring better prospects for people and the planet. Implementing such an ambitious agenda will require an effective mobilisation and utilisation of a wide range of development resources beyond international public finance. Making development cooperation and partnerships more effective will be crucial in this context to achieving sustainable development results.
The Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) in laying out the steps the international community committed to finance this new global sustainable agenda, acknowledged the importance of effective development co-operation.
The GPEDC has an important role to play in supporting implementation of the SDGs given its inclusive, multi-stakeholder characteristics, focus on behaviour changes guided by the principles of effective development co-operation, and country-focused approach for promoting inclusive dialogue, actions and accountability for change.
